In all honesty, that shouldn’t be a bad thing, as the ‘honoring’ that takes place in Hollywood is likely as fake as everything else. Bravo to Ms. Daly – who has been a good actress in my opinion since I first saw her in ‘Cagney & Lacey” – and in all honesty, I find her silver hair to be a lot less upsetting than I do the not-quite-as-natural hair of Joan Collins, nearly 20 years her senior.
I love Tyne Daly. She’s my absolute favourite actress. I saw her in the West End, as Maria Callas (her, not me!), and she was spell binding. She’s her own woman. I recall in one interview, a journalist remarked how she had balls for standing up for what she believed in. Her reply was, ‘not balls, dear, womb. I had womb!’. Great lady. Icon.
“… and we certainly don’t honor it in Hollywood.”
