Some of you may remember that last year I did a couple of 10k runs. Somehow, I wasn’t put off and I’m doing them again this year.
First up is the Great Birmingham 10k Run on 1 May, so not long to go. Number has arrived, I’m just waiting for my sponsorship vest to be delivered now.
This year, I decided to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society. Fortunately for me, I haven’t personally had any family member suffer with this awful illness, but that doesn’t mean I won’t, or that I myself won’t become a victim of it. And as a fan of the late Terry Pratchett’s books, it became something I paid more attention to when he was diagnosed with early onset dementia in his late 50s.
My next run is in July, in London, finishing in the Olympic Stadium. After that, who knows? Our good friend Sally and I are contemplating the possibility of doing a half marathon, but so far, contemplating is as far as we’ve got!
