For 74 years he fought like a lion
They tried to keep him down but he just wasn’t buyin’ it
He crushed bigots with his words
Created legend with his deeds
Stood for peace with his brothers
Brought the world to its knees
Traded the ring for the pulpit to lead a civil revolution
Gave up golden gloves and buckles cos war ain’t no solution
Nimble feet, sharp mind, heart of a heavyweight
The pacifist an activist with the aim to liberate
His life was his message, he wiped the grins off their faces
His name is Ali and he’ll always be the greatest.
