Random Fact: October

October was known by the Anglo-Saxons as Winterfylleth, meaning the ‘fullness’ of winter. The October Revolution (Russia 1917) actually took place in November, but at that point Russia hadn’t changed from the Julian calendar.

More US presidents have been born in October than in any other month. In the US, October is National Pizza Month, Popcorn Month, Pork Month and Sausage Month. In the UK, it’s the Awareness Month for breast cancer, Lupus and national cyber security. Not only that, it’s also Black History Month, National Cholesterol Month, International Walk To School Month and International School Library Month – it’s a busy one!
